SKILLED SWING BED SERVICES
In addition to being a state-of-the-art medical facility with new technology in the two surgical rooms, a spacious suite for Physical, Occupational & Respiratory Therapy and the 25 bed Hospital now has 5 beds set aside for Skilled Swing Bed services. The swing bed rooms also allow for patients to FaceTime or Zoom with their families at home. Recovering back to health is a more expedient process when the patient can regularly visit with family and friends.
VA-Authorized Skilled Swing Bed Services
Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic is proud to be part of the VA Community Care Network, allowing us to provide VA-authorized Skilled Swing Bed services for eligible Veterans.
After a hospitalization, many Veterans need additional skilled nursing and rehabilitation before returning home. Through the VA Community Care Network, eligible Veterans may be able to receive that care at Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic—recovering closer to family, friends, and the community they call home.
Our Skilled Swing Bed program provides individualized care that may include:

Our experienced team understands the Community Care process and works closely with patients, families, the VA, and referring facilities to help coordinate services.

BED AVAILABILITY
Currently we are able to provide 5-7 beds that are set aside specifically for Swing Bed patients.
SPIRITUAL
On-call Chaplain is available through the Ministerial Allliance.
TRANSPORTATION
RSVP transportation could also be scheduled.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Public Transportation could also be scheduled.
SUPPORTS
Access to hospital Auxillary Volunteers.
